It was around 2004, in the summer. I had just started making music. I used my guitar, a cheap microphone, and Fruity Loops to create some tracks. After a few songs, I felt I needed a stage name. Something like Aphex Twin. A name that looked like a first name and a last name.

I sat at my keyboard and pressed many keys at the same time. A long line of random letters appeared. While looking through it, I found one word I could actually read: aqerhog.

That’s how the name was created — by accident, from chaos.
